Basically, There are 5 kinds of array sets.
1.        High DEF, VTL array (Infantry tank)
2.        High AGL,DEF array (Ranger/Archer tank)
3.        High AGL,ATK array(Archer/Ranger)
4.        High ATK array (Art of Doom)
5.        High ATK,VTL array(Cavalry)

Array should be used accordingly. It various from Jiayu pass to PVP.
Here, I would like to introduce a commonly used array: 6 archers.
“6 archers” here means the troops, not the heroes.

First you need one or two Tanks.
Infantry hero is good to be tank. (Infantry hero leading archer troops)
Then we need troops that can do serious damage.
18 ATK-Artillery hero! (Artillery hero leading archer troops)
Make sure the heroes are in Good GP and Command.

2 Infantry + 4 Artilleries. All leading Archer troops.
